EOS Board of Directors Grows to Meet New Challenges in 2021

 In Uncategorized

EOS International was pleased to welcome six new board members in December of 2020. The board voted unanimously to add the organization’s Central American Co-Founders and Country Directors, Alvaro Rodriguez and Diana Calix. Diana and Alvaro have been central to all operations of the organization in Honduras and Nicaragua, respectively, throughout the organization’s existence.

The membership of Central American leaders on the board is a critical step for the organization to embrace grassroots leadership from the communities most impacted by our work. Now more than ever, with staff travel greatly diminished and public health constraints on community interaction, it is critical to have voices immersed in disaster response and grassroots community development present at this highest level of EOS’s decision making process, especially in its newly-bilingual board meetings.

With the addition of Diana and Alvaro, we also are thrilled to welcome four other new members to our Board of Directors: Terry Gallagher, Leah Larson, Veronica Descotte, and Morgan Clyburn. Terry is a retired water quality industry executive with extensive leadership and business experience in Latin America. Leah is a marketing professional, ready to enhance EOS’ brand strategy and recognition. Veronica is a senior business strategist who brings creativity and a Latinx perspective to philanthropic development. Morgan is a medical technology entrepreneur with a passion for board governance and fundraising. Each of these board members has pledged to serve the organization for a three-year term.

We are confident that together with our existing board members that these new members will propel us to where we need to be in 2021. We also would like to thank Chris Deal, Jeff Ross, and Brian Bell for their years of service and dedication to EOS upon the conclusion of their board terms last month. We could not have made such an impact without your incredible support.

As we move ahead into uncharted waters, we are confident that 2021 will be another great year of providing safe drinking water and opportunity for the rural communities we serve in Central America. Please join us in welcoming Alvaro, Diana, Terry, Leah, Veronica, and Morgan to the EOS family in the years to come.
